The Managing Director of the G7 Security Systems, Mr. Mac-Reuben Kumah, has challenged security guards to remain vigilant and alert at all times to neutralize moves by criminal – minded persons who seek to threaten the security of individuals and society in general.
He said it was time they step up their game and remain security conscious and rid society of miscreants and criminals whose stock in trade is to make law-abiding citizens uncomfortable.
Mr. Kumah said this during a staff durbar dubbed, Crime Awareness, organized by his establishment to appreciate and brief the guards on the changing security trends, as well as the current security situation in the country.
He said there was an upsurge of armed robbery and criminal activities, and therefore, imperative for the management of the security firm to emphasize what to do in these dangerous times as private security guards.
“At this period of our lives, we do not have to allow any of our clients to lose his / her life or property at home or at work. This is a firm promise we have made to them and, therefore, have to show commitment in our work and deliver our mandate without blemish,” he stated.
Mr. Kumah said the management of G7 took security issues seriously because the safety of its clients was paramount and that explained why management had invited the District Commander of the Achimota Mile 7 Police Command, Supt. Iddrisu Tanko Issifu and some Military personnel to update the security guards on how to combat and neutralize activities of criminals, as well as ways to team up with the professionals in combating crime.
Mr. Kumah commended six of his guards whose vigilance led to the retrieval of huge sums of money belonging to clients of some financial institutions where the guards were on duty, as well as foiled robbery attempts on some clients of some banks.
The six, S/O Sylvester Atidamah, S/O Emmanuel Asiamah, S/O John Bulu, S/O Abubakar Nurudeen, Richard Ayine and S/O Collins Okudzeto, were presented with Citations and money for their loyalty, honesty and vigilance.
In attendance to witness the presentation of the Awards were the Regional Head of Security of Standard Chartered Bank, Africa and Middle East, Mr. Amjad Bhatti, Country Security Manager of Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana, Mr. Lawrence Gyakari Ntim and Head of Security of Bank of Africa, Ghana, Mr. Kelvin Adzewoda.
